TRANSFER:Renato Sanches to AC Milan is almost a done deal

An update has been provided by journalist Peppe Di Stefano regarding AC Milan’s plans to make some moves in advance in an effort to strengthen the squad in preparation for the summer transfer window. AC Milan are looking to strengthen the squad.

TRANSFER:Renato Sanches to AC Milan is almost a done deal

Speaking to Sky (via PianetaMilan), Di Stefano suggested that Milan are not inclined to spend the €35-40 million necessary to sign Sven Botman from Lille because of the emergence of Pierre Kalulu last season and the return of Simon Kjaer, while Gleison Bremer would cost less and already knows the league. Bremer would also be a better fit for Milan because of his familiarity with the league.

He goes on to say that there will need to be a “revolution” in the attack, and while Divock Origi will be arriving, Zlatan Ibrahimovic won’t be eligible to return until 2023 (and he still might not renew), and Olivier Giroud has one more year left on his contract. Ante Rebic’s play has been erratic, and there is currently no No. 10 starter-caliber player.

The Rossoneri are interested in making an investment in the trident and more specifically the right wing; however, the problem with Domenico Berardi as a potential target is that Sassuolo is asking for €40 million to sell him, which is an amount that Milan does not appear willing to pay.

Last but not least, he mentions that Renato Sanches is the top priority on the list, and he explains that this is because Sanches is versatile enough to serve not only as a central midfielder but also as a playmaker when the situation calls for it.
