Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong clears out his locker as he prepares for a potential reunion with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United
The midfielder has been sought after by Manchester United in recent months as they look to replace the departed Paul Pogba. De Jong previously worked with new Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag.
They won the domestic double and reached the Champions League final together in 219. According to reports in AS, Barca have increased their contact with interested clubs as they look to sell the Netherlands international for £8m more than United offered.
They also reported that de Jong emptied his locker at Barcelona’s training ground. The 25-year-old has been a regular at the club for three years, playing 14 games in all competitions and scoring 13 goals.
It was a rare quiet time for Barcelona as they won just one title. Selling de Jong could be a good move for the club as he has been plagued by recent financial problems. Man United fans will also be delighted about the midfielder’s potential arrival as the club nears a return to the top four in the Premier League.
