Ousmane Dembele is said to want to join Chelsea, but he wants Thomas Tuchel to promise that he will play right away if he does.
The Chelsea manager thinks Dembele could replace Romelu Lukaku, who is going back to Inter Milan after a bad season at Stamford Bridge.
Dembele reportedly wants to join Tuchel’s team because he wants to help the club try to win the Premier League and the Champions League next season.
Dembele, who used to play for Dortmund under Tuchel, wants to hear reassurances from him, though.
The Sun says that the 25-year-old wants the Chelsea manager to confirm his spot in the starting lineup and reassure him that he won’t be taken out of the lineup because of squad rotation.
Dembele will be looking for a fresh start at Chelsea after not living up to expectations at the Nou Camp since he moved there from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 in a deal worth a staggering £120 million.
Dembele has played 150 games for Barca and has scored 32 goals and set up 34 others. This is despite the fact that he is not always reliable on the field.
He has also won two LaLiga titles and two Copa del Rey titles with the Catalan giants.
Because of this, Barcelona is said to want to keep the 25-year-old player this summer.
Xavi, the manager of Barcelona, recently said about the forward, “Talks are still going on, and we’re going to be optimistic.”
“I hope he can stay. He has helped us a lot in the last six months.
“He is a decisive player who has given a lot of assists and has been great in a lot of games.”
“We’ve missed him when he hasn’t played. I like him because he’s a good football player, and we’d like to keep him, but we’ll have to see.
