The Brazil international, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, is making a big-money switch to north London.

Spurs are splashing out an initial £50 million ($61m) fee to get the deal for Richarlison over the line.

The agreement reached with the Toffees includes the option for a further £10m ($12m) to be paid in add-ons.

The 25-year-old scored 10 goals and provided five assists as he helped Everton avoid relegation last season.

He scored 43 goals in 135 league appearances for the Toffees after joining from Watford in July 2018.

The Hornets had signed Richarlison for £11.5m from Brazilian side Fluminense in 2017.

Playing either as a wide attacker or central striker, Richarlison finished as Everton’s joint-top scorer across all competitions in his opening two seasons on Merseyside, reaching double figures in three of the four seasons he spent with them.

Richarlison, 25, has made 173 Premier League appearances to date, scoring 48 goals, during spells at Watford and Everton since making the switch from Fluminense in August, 2017.

Tottenham have brought in the forward as they prepare for a season in which they have qualified for the Champions League. They already boast plenty of firepower in their ranks, with England captain Harry Kane very much a talismanic presence in the final third of the field. They also have Son Heung-min on their books as well as Dejan Kulusevski who has been impressive since joining In January.

Richarlison becomes Spurs fourth signing after England goalkeeper Fraser Forster joined on a free transfer from Southampton, as well as Croatian winger Ivan Perisic on a free transfer from Inter Milan and Mali midfielder Yves Bissouma who joined in a £25m deal from Brighton.
