According to Sky Germany, there has been no progress in negotiations for Yann Sommer, and the deal could still fall through despite the Swiss international’s desire to join Bayern Munich.
Sommer is still Bayern Munich’s top target to replace the injured Manuel Neuer. Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach Daniel Farke, on the other hand, is urging the club to keep Sommer. When asked if Sommer would play in the second half of the season, Farke said emphatically, “Yes.” Gladbach will only release Sommer if a replacement can be found.
Jonas Omlin of Montpellier is regarded as Sommer’s successor at Gladbach, but he would cost €10 million this month and €3-4 million in the summer. Bayern will also not pay €10 million for Sommer as they value him at around €5m
