Chelsea are reportedly making positive progress in contract negotiations with N’Golo Kante and there is now increasing confidence that the midfielder will stay.
The Athletic reports that Kante, who is out of contract at the end of the season, had been unhappy with Chelsea’s initial offer of two years, plus the option of a further 12 months, as he wanted a longer duration.
The contract length, the report states, remains a sticking point despite talks heading in the right direction. But Chelsea are working to find a compromise the keep Kante at Stamford Bridge.
