Arsenal recovered from a 1-0 half-time defeat to move seven points clear of Newcastle at the top of the Premier League – and eight clear of Manchester City.
Said Benrahma’s penalty gave West Ham a lead midway through the first half after William Saliba had tripped Jarrod Bowen, but the second half turned the whole game in Arsenal’s favour.
But the Gunners regrouped and Bukayo Saka struck the equalizer eight minutes after the restart before Gabriel Martinelli put Arsenal ahead.
Nketiah’s goal in the 69th minute ensured the Gunners secured all three points and equaled their longest-ever Premier League home winning streak with their 10th straight victory at the Emirates.
While Arsenal march onwards at the summit, defeat leaves West Ham 16th and only a point above the relegation zone.
