Bayern Munich secured a place in the Champions League knockout stage with a 2-1 victory over Galatasaray.
Captain Manuel Neuer praised Harry Kane as a “phenomenon” for scoring two crucial goals in the final 10 minutes. Despite the score being tied at 0-0 with 10 minutes left, Kane’s header from a Joshua Kimmich free-kick put Bayern in the lead.
Kane scored again with four minutes remaining, securing a remarkable 19 goals in 15 competitions since joining from Tottenham.
Although Galatasaray’s Cedric Bakambu scored in injury time, Bayern held on for a one-goal victory.
Bayern’s win extends their unbeaten streak in the Champions League group stages to 38 games.
