After his World Cup exploits, Alexis Mac Allister was welcomed back to Brighton & Hove Albion with a hero’s welcome this week.
Although the Argentine midfielder’s performance on Saturday in the FA Cup third-round match proved he is a man for all seasons, it was a frigid January day at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium.
In the second half, Mac Allister came off the bench for the Seagulls and promptly scored with a lovely flicked finish before striking the post with a free-kick.
But it didn’t take him long to score the game’s second goal.
To keep possession of this youngster, Brighton will have to engage in combat.
